Ikkyo

First teaching

Erste Lehre

Controls the arm through the elbow and shoulder.

Nikyo

Second teaching (kote-mawashi)

Zweite Lehre

Bends the wrist inwards, towards the forearm.

Sankyo

Third teaching (kote-hineri)

Dritte Lehre

Twists the wrist and spirals the pressure up the arm.

Yonkyo

Fourth teaching (tekubi-osae)

Vierte Lehre

Presses a sensitive point on the inside of the forearm.

Gokyo

Fifth teaching

Fünfte Lehre

Ikkyo-like control with a reversed grip, often against a knife.

Hiji-kime-osae

Elbow lock (rokkyo in some schools)

Ellbogenhebel

Locks the straight arm at the elbow.

Pins work with the whole body, not with arm strength. When your partner taps, release at once.
